Are you ready?

I am reading on fb about drug dealers, crime and home invasions.  It is really sad.  I see on the news that residents in Bath NY are trying to fight back.  It seems that it is in all areas.

I don’t know the answer to stop it, but I at least have some protection just in case.  Our personal protection products include stun guns, pepper spray, kubatons, alarms, etc.  Our pepper spray enables you to defend yourself while keeping a safe distance from an attacker.  Damsel in Defense pepper spray is one of the hottest on the market!  The potency of this spray enables it to bring down the most aggressive of attacker; even those under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  It is sad to think that we need to keep a can of pepper spray or a stun gun as close as our phone, but it is a very good idea, even when we are home.

Our alarms would be very startling as well and may be enough to give you time to get something else if you didn’t have it close.  Even our Road Trip Flashlight would do some damage on someone if you needed to hit them with the diamond point window breaker.

Layer your protection! Our stun guns have disable pins, so if it would be taken from you it couldn’t be used against you.  If taken from you, you should have something else to take its place, like pepper spray or kubaton.   If your able to….

Commitment and Help Tool :)

When I started blogging, I had planned to post every day.  I found it is a hard thing to do and it takes a lot of discipline.  I did get 31 posts published so that was not bad, but it wasn’t every day.  Now, I just committed to writing every day in November!  I like a challenge so here goes!

Today as I was taking a walk with my husband, I was thinking about our Road Trip Auto Emergency Tool.  In a past post I wrote about how important this is to have in all of your vehicles.

I also wrote about using this as a Protection Tool when you are walking.

Today I thought of it as being a “Help Tool” if you were in your house and needed help from someone passing by.  The red flashing beacon could be placed in a window that someone driving by would see and most likely someone would stop to investigate.

I think this came to my mind because there was and elderly couple in our area that were victims of a crime. I feel so bad for them and think of them often. They were both in their 80s, and had lived there for over 50 years. The husband was shot and killed and the wife was hurt very badly with a knife.  The wife had to lay in their house with her husband who had passed away from Friday until Sunday. How horrible that must have been for her.  I think I read that she tried to make a sign to put in the window but couldn’t.  I thought of how much easier it would be if our Road Trip was within reach, it is a FLASHING SIGN!

I know I have one in each of our vehicles and will now have one in our house in a place within easy reach of the floor.  Most of the time, when someone is in trouble they cannot stand up.  One note, as I wrote in another post it is also a fun toy for young boys! I put a rubber band around the bottom where the seat belt cutter is.  The space is really small and I doubt they could get a finger in there, but a rubber band serves well to make a guard for the blade.

Safety Tips written by a Cop continued….

I started this yesterday.  If you missed it, all you need to do is click on previous up on the right hand side and it will take you to yesterdays post which was Tip #s 1 & 2.

Tips for Today:

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy..  The driver won’t see you, but everybody else will.  This has saved lives.

Again, our Sock it to Me Tool is a good thing to have hidden in your trunk as well as in your pocket or purse.  It would make it easier to knock out the tail lights! And attack your attacker if he decides to open the trunk again.

Sock it to me Kubotan

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit

(doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON’T DO THIS!)

The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go.

AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE..  If someone is in the car with a gun to your head

DO NOT DRIVE OFF, Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF!

Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the carYour Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and runIt is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

If you were using your LED “flashlight” (stun gun) as you should be, you would have checked in the back seat on the floor and around your car before you got in….. Just sayin….. 🙂

Safety Tips and Self Defense Strategy

The statistics of crime rates is hard to even imagine… The numbers prove that everyone should take care to follow rules to help avoid becoming a victim.  Here are a few tips that may help to keep you safe.

1. Be familiar with your usual travel routes.  Watch for anything out of the ordinary.  Is there somewhere that you could get help if you needed it?  Always be thinking what if?

2. Consider carrying pepper spray. It is legal in all 50 states and you don’t have to let your attacker get close to you.  You can see all the pepper spray that we have in Damsel in Defense at my website stunninglyprotected.com

3. Stay alert at red lights, stop signs, and gas stations. Be sure your doors are locked and you are alert to anyone approaching your vehicle.

4. Always look around your vehicle under and inside before you get too close to it.  Someone could be waiting until you get it unlocked to steal your car and possible take you with it!  I like to carry my flash light to my car, which duals as a stun gun!

5. Know how to defend yourself if attacked in your car. It is a good idea to have a Kubotan, and/or other personal protection products

6. If your car breaks down, raise the hood and stay inside with the doors locked. OR  If you have our Gimme a Sign, you won’t have to get out of your car.  You can put the “Assistance Needed” signs in your windows.  Be careful of who stops to help you, make sure you are ready to defend yourself if needed.

7. Never leave your driver’s license in your car.

8. Always remember where you park your car, so you won’t be wandering around the parking area trying to find it.

9. Always walk with confidence. Keep your head up to look anyone you meet in the face.  Usually they are looking for an easy target that can’t identify them. Look behind you every now and then, be aware of your surroundings.

10. Never pull into a parking space next to anyone loitering or sitting in a parked car.  I wrote about this in an earlier post.

Stun Guns

I just looked back at my posts and realized that I had not yet wrote a post on our current stun guns.  I did write about the sale on the discontinued ones with my first post.  We have 3 different stun guns in our new catalog.  All our stun guns feature a light emitting diode (LED) flashlight, rechargeable, disable pin, and comes with black nylon holster.  Each of the individual stun guns also feature…….

The Get a Grip: 7.5 million volts, ergonomic grip and has a built-in slide out charger.  This one is my favorite.

Get a Grip Large Stun Gun

The Striking Distance: 6 million volts, ergonomic grip, and 12 inch reach. This one would be good to keep in your house by your door in case someone tries to get in that you wish to keep out!

Pack A Punch: 7.5 million volts, and comes in several colors.  It is good to keep a stun gun by your bed, just in case you need it during the night.  Home invasions are on the rise.

Pack a Punch Stun Guns

I really like that our stun guns are a flashlight as well.  When you are going to your car at night, you can check around your car, under and in it to make sure there are no surprises.  If someone comes upon you while you are unlocking your door, you can turn your flashlight into a very intimidating stun gun.  The sight and sound will most likely scare them off, but if not….it will also do the job to take them down if you need to.  The disable pin is worn around your wrist, if the stun gun is grabbed away from you, it will pull the disable pin so your attacker cannot use the stun gun on you.  Hopefully that won’t happen, but if it does,….while they are trying to figure out how to get it to work, it might be your chance to get away.  You can view/order these stun guns at my website stunninglyprotected.com and add to your personal protection products.

Stun Guns are not legal everywhere.  They are legal in most of Pennsylvania, everywhere but Philadelphia.  When you visit my website and look under stun guns, it will list the states or municipalities that they cannot be sent to.
